​Since August of 2022 the original Hap's Cajun Meats and Market was named after Ashley's grandfather, Harvey Preston Carpenter. His nickname in the Airforce was 'Hap Hazard' and afterward everyone knew him as Hap. To honor his memory and to share his love of food and family, the decision was made to name the store after him.

But now, we're thrilled to introduce the newest members of our family!

Their love for Cajun food, family, and culture was born deep in the heart of Acadiana. Inspired by their beloved father and grandfather, both known as "Paps" and "Pappy," they always dreamed of creating a place that honored their legacy, where great food brought people together around the table.

As only God can orchestrate, our paths crossed, and together we've blended not only our businesses, but our family recipes, traditions, and passion for authentic Cajun cooking.

Those cracklins y'all can't stop talking about? That's them! And our new boudin and sausage? They're the result of two families coming together, sharing generations of recipes, and creating something truly special.
